Food Truck Event. We’ve scheduled our first food truck event for Friday, December 4, at 4-7pm.  The truck will be Pakos Fresh Mex; its menu can be found at https://www.goodfynd.com/vendors/pakos-takos-grill. The truck will be at the off-street parking lot for Hooff’s Run Park at Commonwealth Avenue and Chapman Street, a block east of Maury Elementary. Advance orders through the Goodfynd app are encouraged and can be placed starting on November 30. If this is successful, we may look to make it a regular event (with rotating trucks), as well as look at other times/locations. (Some interest was also expressed in lunchtime events; also, let us know about other food preferences or even specific trucks to pursue.)

Maury Renaming. The School Board on November 23 unanimously voted to rename Maury Elementary, as well as T.C. Williams, at its meeting on November 23. A further process will be required to select new names, with a goal of recommendations being made in April 2021. For more information, please visit https://www.acpsk12.org/news/?p=17073#schoolnames.

Turkey Trot. This year’s Thanksgiving event will be virtual, instead of in-person through the streets of Del Ray and Rosemont; for more information, please visit https://www.alexandriaturkeytrot.com.
