Rail Bridge Replacement Study. The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA) is conducting a study on alternatives for rehabilitation or replacement of the rail bridges over King Street and Commonwealth Avenue to improve safety and reduce maintenance. VPRA will be conducting a virtual meeting on November 2 from 6-7pm. Visit https://tinyurl.com/3ce7mfjs to register for the event.

Braddock/Mount Vernon Intersection. The light at this intersection has been retimed, to provide for a protected left turn cycle from northbound Mount Vernon Avenue.  The new RCA “PELT” (Planning, Environment, Land-Use, and Transportation) committee is currently looking at other infrastructure issues and we plan to hold a general meeting in the New Year to report on its work.

Remember to Vote. On November 8, There will be an election in Alexandria for the U.S House of Representatives; The choices are Democrat Donald Beyer, Republican Karina Lipsman, and Independent Teddy Fikre. Metro Closures. 
There is no service south of National Airport through November 5, to allow track construction for the new Potomac Yard station (scheduled to open in 2023); additionally, until spring 2023, there is no Yellow Line service across the bridge between Pentagon and L’Enfant Plaza.
