Meeting Wrap-Up. Thanks to all who attended our September meeting.
 
* Margaret Wohler, Chair of the Alexandria Film Festival, gave us a preview of the November 7-10 event. One of the films will be “Daddio” by Rosemont native and comedian Casey Wilson. For more information, please visit https://alexfilmfest.com.
 

* Ian Sterne of Volunteer Alexandria gave us some advice about how to be prepared for emergencies (flooding, hurricanes, etc.), as well as alerted us to volunteer opportunities available through the organization. For information about emergency planning, please visit https://www.alexandriava.gov/Emergency#MakingaPlan. * Brian Rahal of the City’s Stormwater Management Division provided us with some information about the loans that are available both to businesses and residents to aid recovery from the July flooding, but the October 7 deadline is rapidly approaching. Del Ray and Arlandia Planning. The City expect to start the process of updating its plans for these areas of the City – which have not been revisited since the mid-2000s – later this year. Upcoming Area Events. Art on the Avenue in Del Ray will be held on Saturday, October 5. See http://artontheavenue.org for more information. The Turkey Trot through Rosemont and Del Ray will be held on Thursday, November 28.  See https://www.alexandriaturkeytrot.com for more information.
