Russell/Callahan/King Intersection
Nearly a decade after first soliciting public input, the City has finished reconfiguring the Russell/Callahan/King intersection. This project was funded primarily to improve pedestrian/bicycle safety, and only incidentally to improve traffic.
Please note the changes in the northbound traffic pattern on Callahan: traffic continuing across to Russell now flows from the right lane rather than the left lane.
Rosemont Fourth of July Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day at Alexandria’s oldest 4th of July celebration. Started over fifty years ago, the Rosemont 4th of July event features a patriotic bike decorating contest, moon bounce, dunk tank, face painting, lawn games, and an awards ceremony. The Rosemont Citizens Association hosts this event.
Entry is free. Tickets are for sale for food and games.
Schedule of Events:
9:00 a.m. – Patriotic Bike Decorating Contest
9:30 a.m. – Lawn Games and Baby Contest
10:30 a.m. – Awards Ceremony
11:00 a.m. – Flag Ceremony
1:00 p.m. – July 4th Celebration Close
