City Council Approves Woodbine Memory Care Center Application (February 2015)

The City Council on February 21 by a 6-1 vote approved the application for the rezoning of 2805 – 2809 King Street and other authority necessary to allow a memory care facility to be constructed adjacent to the existing Woodbine nursing home. The opposing vote was from Vice Mayor Allison Silberberg. A video of the meeting is available on the City website (; the discussion begins at approximately 2:40.

City Approves Yates Restaurant Plan (December 2014)

On December 13 the City Council gave final approval to the applications necessary for a pizzeria at Yates Corner (515 Mount Vernon), with some minor changes from the conditions initially recommended by city staff (including a reallocation of the seats allowed indoors and outdoors).  A copy of the application/staff report can be found at; an excerpt from the application (showing the main level of the restaurant, as originally proposed) appears below.
