Braddock Cannon Centenary (May 2015)

On Tuesday, May 26 at 3 pm, exactly one hundred years to the minute, the City of Alexandria and the Society of Colonial Dames of America in the State of Virginia re-dedicated the cannon monument at the intersection of Braddock and Russell Roads.  The 1915 monument was first installed at the rural intersection of two dirt roads in what was then the West End of Alexandria, using one of the original cannons believed to have been abandoned at the waterfront by British General Edward Braddock in 1755.
